Two Thousand Ten

Oh my goodness.  It’s two thousand ten!  Or is it “twenty ten?”  I don’t know what the proper pronouncement is supposed to be.  Do you just say “oh ten?”  I don’t think that’s right either.  I guess I’ll have to try it both ways for a bit before I decide.

Anyhow, I’m not usually one for resolutions.  I never stick with them anyways, so why set myself up for failure?  But this year, I have a few things that I really want to accomplish so I am going to set some.

  1. Save some money.  I SUCK at saving money.  I’ve never been able to save a dime.  But I am a mommy now.  With that comes some responsibility (ha).  So this year, I will save some money.  I’m going to start small.  Maybe just $20 out of a paycheck.  But that’s more than I ever saved before.  I want to be able to buy my boys things and take them places without always relying on my (wonderful) parents for help.
  2. Eat more healthy. hahahahahahah!! No, really.  I have to lose weight.  But since I am pregnant I have to wait before “dieting.”  So I am just going to try and eat a little better.  Keep from gaining too much weight.  It’s better for me, this baby and my family.  Then, when the baby is born, I will commit myself to losing weight for.ever.   If you’ve read for any length of time, you might know that I attempted to get weight loss surgery.  That didn’t go well the 1st time.  I haven’t decided if I will try that route again or just do it the “old fashioned” way.  I’ll let you know in June.
  3. 365 Day Photo Project.  I got my new camera for Christmas so I want to learn to use it.  So I’ve committed myself to taking and posting (at least) one photo per day over on my photo blog.  Of course, I’ve already screwed this up because I couldn’t take a picture yesterday (the 1st).  It seems I got a bad memory card.  At least, that’s all I hope is the problem.  On New Year’s Eve, it stopped working.  POO!  Then the stores were not open yesterday so I couldn’t go get a new one.  I’ll head out today and get my card.  Hopefully, that will fix my card formatting problem, and then I’ll start my project.  So it will actually be a “364 Day Photo Project.”  HA.  I’m bound to post some of my favorite photos over here on Wordless Wednesday posts, but check out the photo blog to see if I am improving my skills.

So those are my resolutions.  What are yours?

  1. Have fun with your new camera and project! And I hear you about saving! Hopefully you can monetize your site for some “fun money”!

  2. I want to save money, make more money, eat healthy, exercise more and be more organized!

  3. Julie Bianchi says:

I pretty much have the same resolutions as you do! I REALLY need to save money. I’m a single mom of two and do not receive any child support from my ex. We live with my mom, which is great, because we both chip in for all the bills, etc. But she’s getting up in age and if she were to die tomorrow, I could not afford to stay in the house we’re in now. So I need to look toward the future, esp for my children, and start saving NOW. Even if it means I don’t get to buy my People magazine every week (sob!). I also need to lose weight, but it’s been really hard since I’ve had two neck surgeries. I can’t do much physically, but I do have a gym membership and I need to start back up to at least ride the bike or walk on the treadmill (that’s all I can physically do). It’s just that I don’t want to start back THIS fat you know? Doesn’t that sound stupid? It’s like cleaning your house BEFORE the cleaning lady comes!! Well, good luck on your resolutions!
