Is it totally lame that I’m tickled about having an official press release written about me? I’m such a nerd!
Energizer Taps San Diego Resident to be
Keep Going® Blogger
ST. LOUIS (DATE) – Anyone who has participated in a test of endurance knows that the support and encouragement you get can put a bounce in your step and give you the inspiration to reach your goals. Energizer has found a way to turn up the volume on the celebration of this never-quit spirit by selecting bloggers across the nation to blog about their journey as they train and participate in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure®, an event where participants commit to walking 60 miles over the course of three days to raise funds for breast cancer research.
Rhea Tabler, author of the blog Mommy to Three Monkeys, has been selected as the Energizer Keep Going® Blogger for the San Diego event, being held on Nov. 18-20. Tabler, whose wit, charm and never-quit spirit shine through in her blog located at www.mommy23monkeys.com, has already gotten started on both her blogging and training.
“I am really excited to participate in my first 3-Day for the Cure event,” said Tabler. “It is a great way to achieve a personal goal while also helping raise money and awareness to help in the search for a cure to breast cancer.”
As the 2010 Presenting Sponsor and Official Battery of the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure, Energizer combed the nation looking for bloggers who could spread the word and inspire others to get involved and make it all the way. The 15 Energizer Keep Going Bloggers – one per hosting city – will blog about their successes and challenges as they train.
Jim Olsen, Energizer Vice President of Marketing for North America, says Rhea and other bloggers are great role models for participants at the events, which Energizer is sponsoring for the second year. “We look forward to following the Keep Going Bloggers as they work hard to train and participate in their city’s event,” said Olsen. “We hope that learning about the lives of the bloggers, like Rhea, and monitoring their progress will encourage even more people to participate in these important and meaningful events.”
Mommy to Three Monkeys traces Tabler’s life as a mother of three sons, and now she incorporates her energy, fun and optimism as she shares her experiences training and walking in the 3-Day for the Cure.

About Susan G. Komen for the Cure®
Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan G. Komen, she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. In 1982, that promise became Susan G. Komen for the Cure and launched the global breast cancer movement. Today, Komen for the Cure is the world’s largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. Thanks to events like the Komen Race for the Cure®, we have invested nearly $1.5 billion to fulfill our promise, becoming the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world.
