Welcome to the #HelpJillianWalk Auction!

Auction is CLOSED!  Thank you for your participation and support!!  This means so much to us AND to Jillian.  Winning bidders will be notified by email shortly and have 24 hours to remit payment.  I will then get winners in contact with prize donators to arrange shipment.

Hey Everyone!! It’s Cheryl from Beautiful Side of Hectic. I am so very thankful for Rhea for messing up her numbers for the love of my daughter Jillian. Just to bring you all up to speed, my daughter- Jillian is 3 and has spastic diplegia cerebral palsy. While reading about other children with CP (especially spastic diplegia) an analogy used was “Imagine walking everyday with your knees bent and you’re on your tippy toes. Now walk like that every single day and you’ll get a taste of what our kids feel”. My daughter’s leg muscles are extremely tight.

I often claim that I’m “JUST” a mom, however, I’m a mom on a mission now. Our insurance company, Manulife Financial has denied botox injections to help my daughter with spasticity. I am currently appealing this decision, but Jillian’s appointment is next Wednesday and I didn’t have the heart to have to cancel her appointment. I went into detail in THIS post, if you want to check it out!

The generosity, comments, tweets, etc that you all have given me and my family make me know that we’re not alone. After speaking with a nurse yesterday, I learned there are at least 100 OTHER children that have been denied Botox Injections with our insurance company. Thankfully Rhea has gratefully used her space to help MY daughter out. Thank you all SO MUCH!!

Jillian’s auction will run from NOON (pst) today until 10AM (pst) on Sunday the 18th.  The auction rules will be on each post, but here they are for your information:

All funds will go towards the next round of Botox in the event that Manulife Financial does not step up and cover treatment.  If insurance does come through, we will all do a happy dance and then the additional funds raised at auction will be donated back to the Holland-Bloorview Children’s fund for use by another child in need of therapy.  So it is a complete Win-Win all the way around.  The generosity of family and friends will go directly towards the care of a child.  You can feel all warm and fuzzy about that people!

Thank you ALL for your support!
