Today is Day 1 of my 21 Day Sugar Detox.  It went very smoothly, I think it helps that I’ve done it before!  I remember the first time I detoxed I was so nervous and excited all at the same time, today was a breeze.  Unfortunately I wasn’t fully prepared and forgot to buy some more tea, so this morning I had a small amount of sugar to sweeten my coffee (3 tablespoons to an entire pot of coffee and half a can of coconut milk…of which I drank 1/3 of the concoction).  In the grand scheme of it all, it wasn’t much, but I was bummed that the first morning of my detox started with sugar. I went to the store this afternoon and fixed that!

Breakfast

I always start my day with an egg scramble.  This morning it was 3 eggs, 3 slices of bacon and a huge handful of fresh organic spinach.  I generally mix it up with various veggies but eat bacon and spinach a lot because it’s so delicious that I don’t tire of it.

Lunch

I took leftover London Broil from dinner the night before.  I had been marinated in olive oil and balsamic vinegar and then broiled.  I paired it with a green apple.

Dinner

I had my favorite Buffalo Chicken Tenders with steamed broccoli. I momentarily forgot I was detoxing and popped a fresh raspberry in my mouth and I no sooner chomped down then I remembered I wasn’t supposed to be eating it!

Drinks

Besides my coffee in the morning, I drank water.  I always drink water so this is no biggie to me.  I just start my day with some caffeine ( a habit I haven’t kicked yet) and then drink copious amounts of water.

So that is it for me today.  It was a pretty boring and simple day.
