Disneyland Surprise!

By on May 13, 2012 in Family Life, Pictures, Twins | 13 comments

My sweet babies turned SIX years old this past week and I can’t believe how big they are getting.  They are turning into little men right before my very eyes.  We had decided to surprise the boys with a day trip to Disneyland (a huge advantage of living only 2 hours away from the house of Mouse).  My original plan was to surprise them ON their birthday (Wednesday) and go spend the day in Anaheim, but work schedules prevented that from happening and we had to settle on the day after (Thursday). It was so much fun keeping this big secret!  I pined over how I would surprise them for weeks.  I asked my friends how to surprise them.  I got lots of suggestions, here are a few of my favorites: My friend Krista suggested an elaborate scavenger hunt where they could search for clues.  Fun, but way out of my creativity level. Leah was the first to suggest:  “Totally make it like they...

I Need a Vacation

I haven’t been on a vacation in a long time.  I really want to go somewhere beautiful and quiet.  I want to go somewhere with just me and the hubby and leave the kids with grandma.  Doesn’t that sound divine?  I was searching online and decided I wanted to go visit these outer banks homes.  I love to look at houses that I will never live in.  So these seem about as far away as I can get from reality. Oh, but they are on the beach.  I don’t like the beach.  And I think they might have hurricanes.  I don’t like those either. Never mind.  Doesn’t sound like much of a vacation. I’ll take the kids to Disneyland...

Disneyland…again!

My birthday was last week.  Since the twins are still free (under 3) and Disneyland is doing the “get in FREE on your birthday” promotion, me and my mom decided it would be fun to go back (even though we were only there a month ago).  We only had to get a ticket for my mom and Mr. A.  This time we left the grouchy old men at home, and we had a BLAST!  Since we also went mid-week, there were hardly any lines. Here are a few pictures just getting into the park and waiting in line for my ticket (that was the longest line of the day!) These make me laugh….Every time we saw a character, Dennis hid!  lol Here we are at the old Rocket ride.  I was in the Rocket with the twins and they were loving it! LOL!  I love it that I got a picture of Eddie picking his nose!!  And notice that Dennis is again hiding his face.  I don’t know what was up with that kid that day.  He...

Disneyland!

My mom’s birthday was on the 19th so we headed to Disneyland! It was really great. Because my nephew has cerebral palsy, he was able to participate in some community involvement do-hicky and get the tickets for WAY cheap. I think they were like $30 bucks a piece. If you have a child with a disability in the San Diego area (maybe more places, I don’t know) contact your service coordinator and ask them about this program!! Anyhow, that was my little PSA for the day. So we packed up 5 adults and 6 children and took the 2 hour drive to the happiest place on Earth. The weather was beautiful, the kids were happy. It was a good day. We left at 7am and got home at midnight. The kids were SO good, I was so proud. Of course I took a ton of pictures. More than one hundred. Lucky for you, I’ve narrowed them down to my favorites. And because I was bored this morning, I started...
